N.E.mation! 9 has begun. Registration is now open and all it takes are three simple steps to start your journey that may win yourself and your team a trip to USA. Deadline for call for entry: 15 August 2014.
The central idea for this year’s N.E.mation! is “Because We Believe”. Below is the synopsis.
“Singapore is what it is today because our pioneers believed in Singapore and were united by a determination to build a strong, secure and cohesive nation. As we mark Singapore’s 50th year, it is a good time to reflect on the values, principles and convictions that will continue to shape the nation and the home that we want for Singapore and our future generations.”
To give you some motivation, here’s a video featuring the trip of last season’s champion to the USA visiting some renowned animation studios and famous attractions.

About the N.E.mation! competition
An annual inter-school animation competition for students from secondary schools, junior colleges and centralised institute(s) to express their thoughts on Total Defence (TD). More than 11,500 students have participated in N.E.mation! since its inauguration in 2007.
All it takes are 3 simple steps:
1. Form a team of 3 to 4 students from your school.
2. Register online at http://nemation.sg/
3. Submit your story ideas on the central idea (Because We Believe) by 15th August 2014.
For N.E.mation! 9, students are asked to use their creativity to produce storylines centred around the central idea of believing in Singapore and building a secure and cohesive nation, united with determination.
The animation clips produced by the top 10 finalist teams will be judged by a panel comprising industry professionals.
In addition, the public can vote for their three favourite clips come January 2015 at www.nemation.sg, Facebook or via SMS.
Prior experience or knowledge in animation is not required as training in story creation and development, animation techniques and presentation skills will be provided for the shortlisted teams.
Through the learning journey of the competition, student participants acquire TD knowledge and gain useful skills that they can apply to future endeavours.

Oops nearly forgot. Today’s the dateline! Gotta register by TODAY! thks.
Go! Go! Don’t miss out!
Just registered yesterday. Hope we get to go to US 🙂
Good luck!
This looks fun. Wonder why my school didn’t mention it. Can we join on our own?
Not all schools push it actively, while some schools send a few teams. Some only participate with the IT club while others open it to all students in the school. You can still participate even if the school isn’t keen. Just look for the teacher in charge and tell him/her you’re interested. He/she will tell you how to go about participating.
But the deadline for registration is today, so you got to hurry.
